Plan to get a 10 year visa but passport expires in 2019, do I need to get a new entry permit?

What should I do about this. Should I renew my passport again for another 10 years and then get my 10 year Chinese entry permit? What do you suggest? Can I travel with my expired passport and new passport and will the the entry permit still be valid in the expired passport?
