Hello!
As with a friend we're considering travelling there for Golden Week would anybody be so nice to suggest a a 6-7 days itinerary?

First of all, you need to charter a local car when you arrive in the city, since the city transport is not very convenient.
Day one is a day for you to find a hotel and have a rest, if you have enough time and energy, you can pay a visit to Shuidonggou, which is near the airport.
Day 2: Zhongwei is a good place to visit, and you can go to Shapotou and Tonghu Grassland.
Day 3: Mausoleum of Xixia Dynasty- the West Program Tourism Town in Zhenbeibao
Day 4: Helan Mountain, Rock Paintings in Helan Mountain.
Day 5: Shahu Lake-Nanguan Great Mosque
Day 6: Huangsha Gudu
