About:China Customs Declaration

About cigarretes

Hello,
I already had 400 cigarretes in my luggage.
If i buy more cigarrets in transit airport ,eg changi airport,
Then i arrive in beijing airport.
Do i need to declare it?
How much do I have to paid ?

Dear Cecilia, one passenger is allowed to take 400 cigarettes at most without declaration. If you wanna buy more, you need to declare it.
In addition, cigarettes/cigars will be charged 50 percent duty if they exceed the limits.
