About:Chinese Names

I know a married Chinese lady who has three names. What is the proper way of addressing her?

What is the proper way of addressing her? Her married family name is Huang but she often uses her name as Hong Ma. Most people call her Hong. Is Hong her xing or ming ? When people get married in China, does the woman take on the man's family name? I would like to know how this works and how the name is properly structured in this case.

Nowadays, woman doesn't take on the man's family name when get married in China.
Maybe Hong is her surname (xing). Generally speaking, you need to address a Chinese people by his/her surname, followed by honorific titles or the job position. Thus you can address her in this way: Ms. Hong.

Everybody calls her Hong. Never Ms. Hong. I am curious if she inverted her name when she moved to the US. On envelopes and an official documents, her name appears as Hong Ma. I looked at the list of common Chinese surnames and both Hong and Ma were on the list. So unless I ask her directly, I guess I'll never know. What she does not do is use the surname of her husband and son which is Huang.

Well, I see. I think that Ma is her surname. Maybe you can try to address her Ms. Ma, or just call her Hong like others.
