Visa to enter Shanghai

Good day, Ill be coming from Chicago traveling to manila. My flight stops at PuDong Shanghai with 11 hours lay over. Do i need a Chinese entry permit if i wanna go around Shanghai?

Noelle, no, you don’t need it as you can use the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. After arriving at the airport, you just need to apply for a temporary stay permit and then you can go around Shanghai.
