Application submission to the Chinese Consulate in Chicago

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to submit an application to the Chinese Consulate in Chicago, via courier service without going through a "visa express" company with service fees.

Hi, I'm afraid you cannot do that because the consulate doesn't accept applications by mailing. Applicants can go there by himself/herself, or entrust an authorized agency or their company or organizations to submit application.
