About:Power Plugs / Sockets in China

I am travelling to Shanghai and Tokyo - what kind of adaptor do I need to bring? do i need one?

Chinese plugs are the above Type I and Type A, and Japanese plugs are Type A.
Since you are from the US, you need to bring adaptors of these two Types for your 3-prong plugs.
