About:China Customs Declaration

Hi. I am a student in China and I am taking about 5000USD in cash.

I need my tution fees as well as my dormitory fees and also I am think of taking some food items from India in my Check-in luggage that will help me in cooking there in China. Should I declare all this at the customs?

USD5000 is allowed to be taken into China, but you will need to declare to the customs if you bring more than this amount. Food items are allowed, but meat products are prohibited.
