Distance and time between Old Town - Bus station

Hello,

I'm taking a night train from Kunming to Lijiang railway station. I want to visit old town for the day and catch a bus in the afternoon for Qiaotou (Tiger leeping gorge). I think I'm going to take a taxi from railway station to old town but I would like to store my luggage first. What is the most convenient? Is there a service to store my lugagge in LJ (railway station, bus station or guesthouse in old town) ?
How long does it take to go at the Local Transport Service Center Bus Station from old town? How ?
Finally, if I am right, to go to Qiaotou, I will have to take a bus for Shangri-la?
