About:China Transit Visa

Free Visa Transit

I am going to take a flight from Hanoi (Vietnam) to Kansai (Japan) on October 3rd with a 21 hour layover in Guangzhou.
China Southern Airlines provides me free transit hotel
Am I eligible to apply for VOA? or Should I apply for transit G before I come to China?

You don’t need a transit G type for that because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Guangzhou if you travel like that.
