About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

UK>SHANGHAI>HONG KONG>ONWARDS TO PHILLIPINES

Do i need a visa if going to shanghai and hong kong from the UK wouldn't be staying for longer then a week in each location?

Louise, if your total layover time in Shanghai is no more than 144 hours, you are eligible for 144 hr free transit in there. No need to apply for a transit G for that. You don't need a visa for HK either.
