Does a 6 year old Australian child need a Visa to visit her Chinese grandma in China?

Yes, Jing, the child needs to apply for a visa for that beforehand.

I applied for a travel visa for my Son (equivalent to a passport) which grants unlimited stay/ entry exit for 5years
