Without show money issue

Hi , this is angeli
I just wanted to ask , my boyfriend is a chinese citizen and he wanted me to visit there however my money is not enough to finance myself there and beside my boyfriend will be the one to provide my expenses during my stay in china .
Is it possible not to show money instead we will just provide an invitation letter and state there that he will cover my expenses and give the required documents that he has the capacity to provide my expenses there .
