valid china visa is stuck inside of a now non-valid passport(date exspired). What to do?

I applied for a China Holiday entry permit within my last year of my passports validity. Now I have my new passport. Do I take my old passport with me on holiday (China entry permit is stuck down inside old passport)? Or can I send away and apply for a copy to be put into my new passport?
