You will not need a visa, however if the time of day is right I would reccommend a tea ceremony or a lunch. The food is quite delicious. I stopped in Bejing for 8 hrs, visited the temple of heaven, olympic villiage, drove past the forbidden city, did a tea ceremony and had lunch with a guy named Lee who sits just outside the airport and offers to be your personal driver for the day for a fee. It was a great time!
