As I know, it’s free of charge to Shantang Street. You can enjoy some cultural relics like temple, slab bridge, and enjoy scenery in a sightseeing boat.
You can take metro line 1 from People’s Square and get off at Shanghai Railway Station, then take a bullet train to SZ. The train is available from 5:48 to 22:55. It takes CNY39.5 for a 2nd class seat and CNY59.5 for a 1st class seat. After you get there, you can take bus 44/64/85 to Shantang Street. The last train form SZ to Shanghai leaves at 22:52.
