Hong Transit Visa

Dear Sir,
I am from Ghana and a PhD Student in China with a valid resident permit from now, till I graduate in 2018 december, I have come to Thailand for 5 days holiday and I transited through Hong Kong for 4 hours, on my way to Thailand. When am returning back to China, I will transit in Hong Kong for 8 hours, I will like to visit the city center and other great places in Hong Kong during my 8 hours transit period before I return back to my campus in China.

Currently am in Thailand and today is my day two here in Thailand. Please I need a transit visa to enable me visit beautiful Hong Kong for just five hours before I take my Hong Kong airways flight back to China.
I have my
Passport,
Passport size picture of my face,
but I do not have my Bank of China financial statement with me here in Thailand.

Can I still apply for the Hong Kong transit entry permit without it or what other alternative can i use to apply apart from my financial statement?

Thank you very much for you support and assistance.

The financial support proof is necessary. Either bank statement or bank account is fine.
