I have 13hrs layover ,Am I eligible to leave transit area and go out of airport to visit city ?.I have a confirmed return tickets and connecting flight from shanghai to edmonton.

Hi, you can enjoy 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai, and you can leave the transit area and go out of airport to visit city. But you need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at the airport to explore the city.
