About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Montreal>Shanghai>Toronto?

Hi, I will be arriving in Shanghai from Montreal for 5 days and then fly to Toronto. Is this route qualifying for the 144 hours visa-free policy? I travel with a Canadian passport.

It´s not a transit at all so you don´t qualify for the 144h twov.

What about flying from Montreal to Shanghai then to New York City?
Since the USA would be the third country and my trip to Shanghai is 5 days (120 hours) Would I qualify for the 144 hours free policy?
