About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Owner of a Joint Venture in Beijing

Hi, I'm a Canadian, co-owner of a JV in Beijing China. I currently have a 'M' visa, good for ten years. I would like to get a 'Z' type and then ultimately get resident status so that I can more easily conduct business between my Canadian company and my Chinese company. What do I need to do to get this done? What documents are required? Is this something I can do here in Toronto, or do I have to be there in Beijing? Thanks

Matthew, you should first prepare your passport and copy of its data page, a completed application form, a recently-taken passport-style photo, and the Business Registration Certificate of your company. Next, submit the application to CVASC in Toronto to apply for the work Z type.
