About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

TWO FLIGHTS INTO CHINA Q's

Hello, love your site, thank you for your great info! I am a US citizen flying to Asia and would love your insight to what I am trying to accomplish with out paying for a traditional visa.

Flying into:
Beijing (72 hrs) - Seoul, So. Korea (connecting flight with 18 hr layover, does this count?) - Nagoya, Japan - then on the same day flying into Shanghai (3 days) - Nagoya, Japan (4 days for a wedding) - Seoul, So. Korea (connecting flight just an hour layover, does this count?) - Beijing (connecting flight does this need a transit G type?)- Canada - USA.

I hope that made sense, thank you for your time! I am trying to convince my husband that we do not need to pay for visas.

So basically we bought 3 rounds of ROUND TRIPS
USA - BEIJING - USA
BEIJING - SO. KOREA - JAPAN - SO. KOREA - JAPAN
JAPAN - SHANGHAI - JAPAN

BUT The order will be as described in my earlier post, but I'll write it out here again more simplified:
USA - CANADA - BEIJING - SO. KOREA - JAPAN - SHANGHAI - JAPAN - SO. KOREA - BEIJING - CANADA - USA

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR INSIGHTS!

You'll still need a traditional L visa since Japan-Shanghai-Japan isn't transit. You can either forfeit your round-trip ticket of Japan-Shanghai-Japan given that other portions of your trip are compliant, or get a 10-year visa for $140. Choice is yours.
