Is protein powder animal products and therefore prohibited to bring into China for personal use?

Hi, I was looking through information about the custom regulations for China on this site and I didn't really get it when it comes to protein powder. On one hand it says that milk powder for personal use is fine to bring into China without any need to declare it. On the other hand it says that animal and animal products, including whey powder, is prohibited. I also notice that there has been a reasonable amount of questions regarding wether you may bring protein (whey) powder into China or not - all answers indicate that this is totally fine if the amount is for personal use. I would very much appreciate it if someone could confirm that protein powder for personal use (1kg) is legally okay to bring into China or wether this falls within animal products and therefore are prohibited? It would be such a shame to end up with a fine or something even worse for bringing in a bag of protein powder.

Regards Dan
