Do I need to book an appointment

I am intending to apply for an F type to china from Turkey my question is do I have to book an appointment and also can anyone help me with a link to the required form to fill and also can that person walk me thru the steps in applying for this visa thank you in advance

You can make an appointment for that, and it is not mandatory.
You can entrust someone to submit the application for you and pick it up when your passport is ready.

I am adding up to what Mary asked do in this case when one is done filling the form he or she can just walk to the embassy at anytime to submit the application ? Also is the application hand filled or typed please

Yes, he/she can go to the CVASC at anytime during the business hours to submit the application. The answers on the application form can be typed, or you can fill it out online and the print it out for your use.
