About:China Visa

Hello, Im currently studying a short course in Beijing on a X2 student visa.

However, it's expiring on the 25th of this month. I got an admission letter to study fulltime in Shanghai but I am yet to receive the JW202 form. Can i apply for an extension to stay here or do I need to return to my home country to reapply? Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Tatenda, I’m afraid you cannot extend the current X2 type if the short course has ended, but you can try to convert the X2 type to a tourist L type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB. If it can be done, you can stay in China to wait for the form.
