buying food in a station where a high-speed train stops

Question

If we get off of the high speed ride (from Xi'an to Beijing) at one of the stops to buy food, how long will we have to do this before departure?

As I know the stopover is usually only 2 or 3 min and I never notice food for sale on the platform. Maybe you need to buy food at the station before boarding.
