About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

What about Italy-Hangzhou-Beijing-Italy?

Hello,
perhaps I must go to Hangzhou to attend a partner just for few days, and then in Beijing for a conference. Could I get the 144 hours (and 72hrs) free transit travelling? (144hrs in Hangzhou + 72hr in Beijing)
My itinerary would be:

Italy-(HKG)-Hangzhou-Beijing-(HKG)-Italy?

Both inward and backward flights will stop in Hong Kong (HKG) for 1-2 hours.
Thank you for your answer!
Giovanni

That will not work. The only acceptable route is Italy-Hangzhou-HK-Beijing-Italy. Italy-HK-Hangzhou-Beijing-HK-Italy is not transit at all.
