About:China Civil Aviation - Regulations & Security Check

Have a 10 hours transit in kunming in september where i am planning to buy tea and cigarettes.

Am i allowed to carry them along with my check in luggage?

Well, different countries have different regulations on carrying cigarettes. If you are taking domestic flight from Kunming then there's no limit on the quantity of cigarettes you carry. If you are taking international flight from Kunming, you should check out the regulation of your destination country. Generally you could take two boxes of cigarettes in the checked luggage.
