About:Getting to Dongguan

I would like to know how to get from Hung Hom rail station Hong Kong to Dongcheng Dongguan.

I am a Australian citizen and would like to know if I need a visa if staying in mainland China for less than 72 hours. I wish to travel by train from Hung Hom to Dongcheng, Dongguan.

Pandora, if you travel like HK-DG(72 hours)-a third country/region, you qualify for the free transit in China, and no visa is needed then.
You may catch a train from HK Hung Hom Station to Guangzhou East Station for 2 hour, and the ticket fare is CNY203 for 1st Cls. seat; CNY239 for VIP Cls. seat. Then take train for around 30 minutes to DG Station, and it will cost CNY50.5 for 1st Cls. seat; CNY45.5 for 2nd Cls. seat. You may then take the subway line 2 from Railway Station to Qifeng Park Station for 25 minutes, and walk southeast for 500 meters to reach your destination.
