About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

So just to clarify, If I go US (PIT) to (Layover) Canada (YYZ) to Hong Kong (HKG) to Shanghai (PVG)

So just to clarify, If I go US (PIT) to (Layover) Canada (YYZ) to Hong Kong (HKG) to Shanghai (PVG) back to Canada (YYZ) (Layover) and then US (PIT) am I ok?

PIT-YYZ-HKG-PVG-YYZ-PIT is OK. PIT-YYZ-HKG-PVG-HKG-YYZ-PIT is not.
