is residence permit in cancel passport still valid?

I recently renew my passport but my residence permit is still valid till October. I plan on traveling during the summer, will I be able to enter china with residence permit in canceled passport?

If possible, you’d better apply for a new visa for that.

Sorry to say it is less possible. Because the validation of visa depends on the passport. So you may have to renew your passport and apply for a new visa.
