About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Arriving PEK on BA flight from LHR.The following morning flying on to ULN.

But this flight consists of two legs: PEK-BAV (connecting in airport, 9:50 hours wait) and BAV-ULN.
Do I qualify for visa free transit in PEK?
Many thanks!

Hi, you cannot use the 72 hour free transit because of your transit in BAV. But if your total layover time in China is within 24 hours, you qualify for visa free transit in China.

Thanks!
As an airline cabin staff, I was under impression that my PEK-ULN ticket would be considered as one journey (BAV is 'connection in airport', my luggage would get tagged through to ULN and I would not be going airside).
Thanks again; I'm now going via IST as it makes more sense!
