Jinshanling and Simatai now is two separated sections of Great Wall. The road connecting these two sections was blocked. From June, 2017, Jinshanling is closed for renovation. So you should choose hiking on Simatai, or other sections like Mutianyu, Juyongguan, etc.

As I know, the hiking path from Jinshanling to Simatai is still closed now, and the Jinshanling sections is also closed for renovation. Therefore, you may consider visiting other parts instead.
