i intend to use the 877 bus to badaling from beijing as it seems the easiest way instead

The tips mention lots of 'fake buses'. How likely is it that we will get the wrong bus if they all have the same number and guards with a uniform? Are they all green in colour? We obviously want to make sure we get the correct bus from Deshengmen.

Just rode the 877 bus today and you will know it's the real one because there will be metal barriers to form an orderly line to board the bus and no one will be trying to convince you to ride it and there will be a sticker on the door than advertises the fare as starting at 2RMB.  And yes, it is green.
