i would like to apply for a residence permit for 3 months (for study)

does that mean I have to exit the country and then re-enter in order to apply for an extension please assist

Annah, may I know if you hold a student X1 type? If yes, you can apply for a one-year residence permit. You don’t need to exit and then re-enter for the extension then.
