planning a family trip to harbin around christmas.

Question

Is that too early for the snow and ice festival (have read that many things may be available before January). How long would you stay? Will be 4 adults and 2 children and hope to ski before or afterwards.

As I know, this festival will be ready for the soft opening from December 21st, 2017 and it will formally start on January 1st, 2017. Therefore, it may be okay to visit there around Christmas. If I plan to visit there, I will stay there more than a week to appreciate this charming city. You are advised to ski after the Christmas.
