About:China Work Visa

From Student visa to Work Permit

Hi All, I am a Senegalese national residing in Nanjing, China. I have recently graduated from a Chinese University in China with a PhD degree. I am Student X-type holder right now and I have managed to find a job in Shanghai.

In order to start my new working position, I have to change my student type to a Z-Working type. I have been informed that, this changing process cannot be done within the Chinese mainland.

Please, it is possible for me to go Hong-Kong for a Z-type application for China?

Thank you in advance

Papis, you can try to do that in HK, but it may be difficult if you don’t have HK residence permit.
If possible, you are advised to go back to your home country for that.

As a Senegalese national, you need to apply for a Hong Kong visa.
Double check with the HR staff of the Shanghai company whether it is doable or not to apply for a Z typein HongKong.
