About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

24hr transit. i am a citizen of Lebanon,

and will have a transit in Shanghai on my way to Hong Kong for less than 24 hours. Do i need a specific visa for that transit? Can i get out of the airport during the 24 hours?

If you travel like Lebanon-Shanghai (24 hours)-HK, you can use the 24 hour direct transit. No visa will be needed then. You can leave the airport as long as you apply for a temporary stay permit at Shanghai airport.

Thanks! Is it easy and fast to apply for the temporary stay permit? Do i need any specific documents other than my passport and air ticket?

It is easy and fast. Except passport and the air tickets, no other documents will be needed.
