About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

When does the 72 start in Beijing?

I've read a few sites that say in Beijing your time starts from your scheduled arrival time. But, I also heard in Beijing the 72 hours starts from the previous 12am that day. If I arrive at 8pm do I lose the 20 hours or does my stay start at time of arrival? Thank you and hope everyone is having great travels.
