Understand the need to submit original degree certificate for obtaining China work visa

Hello, I am India and an engineer working for an American MNC. My company is planning to send me to China for 6 months timeframe. In order to begin China work Z type process, our company appointed agency (in China) is asking me to send my original qualification (degree) certificate to their office address in Shanghai. However, I am not comfortable to send my original certificate to an address outside of my country. Could someone let me know whether it is a mandate to send my original degree certificate to China or there any work around available to process the China work Z type?

I just had this done and you need to goto degree authentification website. But you would need someone to help you because it is in Chinese. This is where to submit your information about your degree than you have to take your degree to an office here in Shenzhen. Hope this helps you.

I am also in Shenzhen.
What is the address of this office in SZ where you had your degree authenticated?
Did you also have to provide a no criminal record certificate?

I had submitted my original degree certificate and police clearance certificate at the citizenship center and obtained my work permit with help from my company approved visa agent. It might take a month's time to process your application. It is better to find a genuine visa agent than trying ourselves, because of language constraints.
