About:China Private Visit Visa

My wife and I moved to Shanghai for her job. Can I get a work visa?

We're currently residing in Shanghai, I received a Residence Permit (it says "Private Affairs" under the purpose of residence).
Is it possible for me to get a work Z type? I don't have a degree, I have a diploma and I have been working for over 30 years. Also, there is a Canadian company that wants to employ me here in their Shanghai office.
