Can I store luggage at Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station if I don't buy a bus ticket?

needing somewhere near this bus station - CD Tourism Bus Center just to store a large suitcase and a carryon for a few hours til I get the late night train - the train station is out of way for getting to store the luggage

Yes, you can deposit your baggage in this bus station. It will cost CNY5/day for a common piece and CNY10/day for a large one. You may take the valuable goods by yourself.
