About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I need to Visit IFAT trade fair in Shanghai 3-6 May 2017

I am British and planing to visit IFAT trade fair in Shanghai. Can I stay 2 nights and apply 72 hours free transit in the airport?

You can only have free transit if you're in transit to a third country. UK-SHA-UK requires a visa in advance.
