About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 hours visa-free stay us passport expires in about 5 mounts

can i go new York Guangzhou with a stop over in honk Kong and be eligible for the 72 hours free stay i am going back to NY direct flight also my us passport expires in about 5 mounts

If you travel like New York- HK- Guangzhou (72hours)-New York, you will qualify for the 72 hour free transit in Guangzhou. Your passport can be sued for that.

Usually, only when you apply for a normal visa, your passport should have at least 6-month remaining validity. It is not that strict when it comes to the free transit policy.
