About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

China born but no copies of USA naturalization

I was born in China, adopted years ago as a young child, mom changed my Chinese name to an American name. We do not have a copy of the document about my name change. Am I still able to get a Chinese tourist visa if I submit other documents about my adoption and of course the other required documents needed? I tried calling the consulate many times but no one answers the phone.

If you were adopted after 2000 then you automatically acquired U.S. citizenship at the moment when you were admitted into the U.S. You can try to justify your case by providing your Chinese birth certificate (if any), old Chinese passport, the U.S. visa as well as the certificate of citizenship (normally, to change the name on the certificate, the USCIS will want to see some kind of court order).
