How to get from Guangzhou East railway station to Guangzhou South railway station?

We are going with train from Hong Kong to Guangzhou East station, we will then continiue from Guangzhou South station to Yangshou. Can anyone tell us the best way to get from Guangzhou East railway station to Guangzhou South railway station? Other tips for the yourney are also most welcome. Thanks!
