Ingrid, if you travel like Zurich-Bangkok-Shanghai(2 days)-Bangkok-Zurich, you need to apply for a tourist L type for that.

Hi. I do not really understand. I am reading on different sites that if you fly to a 3rd country you can use this free visa. Do they ser bangkok as our departure country bevause we change planes here?

Only the flights directly before and directly after Shanghai matter. So ZRH-BKK-SHA-BKK-ZRH isn't a transit to a 3rd country at Shanghai so you need a visa in advance. But ZRH-SHA-BKK-SHA-ZRH would be fine because you transit to a 3rd country each time at Shanghai so you can have 144 hours free transit each time.
