About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Hi, I will be relocating to China on a Z visa.

My wife and children currently have an S2 type. Should this be an S1 type to apply for a residence permit upon arrival or would an S2 be sufficient for that?

Your wife and children can apply for residence permit upon arrival if they have an S1 type in China. An S2 cannot be sufficient for that.

Thanks very much for your response! Sorry, I am not completely sure, do you mean it will certainly not be sufficient or it may not necessarily be sufficient?
