what is the crowd like in shanhaiguan on 1st may 2017 (labour day)?

I will be reaching Beijing on 30th Apr 2017, thus thinking to take a train over to Shanhaiguan first for a night stay. Then to explore Shanhaiguan for a day before taking a night train to Datong.Thanks.

Actually I do not suggest you visit any places during the May Day holiday. Each place will be getting crowded. You will spend many time in waiting in queue for buying tickets, for taking cars and buses, for dinning, for using the washing room, etc.
