About:China Visa Exemption

is a visa required for US citizen??

my family will come to China on Apr on Sat 22nd then on the 23rd they will take a cruise to Japan and Korea will return to Shanghai on 27th and stay till May 7th

Edmundo, if you travel like USA-Shanghai (144 hours)-Japan-Korea-Shanghai (April 7 –May 7)-USA, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit for your first entry in Shanghai; for your second entry, you need a visa; and apply for it in advance in your home country.
