About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

What way carrier can declare my request to the immigration office

Hello! There are four questions:
I have connecting flight to Shanghai KBP(Kiev)-HEL(Helsinki)-PVG(Shanghai) on 28.04.17 (29.04.17-arival to PVG), at that for KBP(Kiev)-HEL(Helsinki) carrier is Ukrainian International Airlines (UIA) and for HEL(Helsinki)-PVG(Shanghai) Finnair. Then I have onward tickets on 03.05.17 to PVG(Shanghai)-HKG(Hong Kong). Does it suit for 144 transit without visa in Shanghai? What carrier should I inform my request for TWOV to? What way carrier can declare and get approval from Shanghai immigration service? What can I do if they refuse to declare my request? Thank you. Sincerely Roman

Roman, if you travel like KBP(Kiev)-HEL(Helsinki)-PVG(144 hours in Shanghai)-HKG, you will be able to use the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
You should inform the carrier (Finnair) when you board the plane in Helsinki.
I’m not sure how the carrier will contact with Shanghai immigration inspection office; they may contact by call, or through internet.
Usually, your request won’t be fused if you qualify for the 144 hour free transit.

China is one of the countries that requires all passenger's information to be related to immigration electronically before travel, and this is usually done at check-in when your passport is swiped at the machine. There is no need to inform the immigration manually ahead of time.
